An aide to the former President of Ghana John Dramani Mahama, Joyce Bawa Mogtari has said the President’s reduction of fuel prices by 15 pesewas is much ado about nothing.
The Finance Minister in his Press Briefing on Thursday, March 24, 2022 indicated that as part of measures to mitigate the economic stress on the people of Ghana Government has reduced fuel by 15 pessewas.
This announcement Bawa Mogtari believes is just a smoke screen as it does not change anything about the prices of fuel.
She believes that with the astronomical increase every fortnight it would have been prudent on the part of the government to reduce drastically the price of fuel in order to cushion the Ghanaian.
Joyce Bawa Mogtari who has always been of the belief that the government need not blame the hardship in the country on COVID-19 and the Russia wars said “A real bummer, let’s compare the reduction of 15p per liter of fuel to the more than astronomical increases over the past month? Much ado about nothing! Absolutely nothing to write home about!”
She is of the view that the current Government needs to be called out for their mismanagement and does not need support and the belief of the people.
“Is there a fourth Estate of the realm, Is there a price on goodwill, or is PR President Akufo-Addo must be the luckiest Leader alive- drag the economy into a ditch and still have everyone hoping that you can do better!!”
