The Minister of Trade and Industry, Kobina Tahir (KT) Hammond has said that 126 of 143 factories under the One District One Factory (1D1F) initiative are fully functional.
The Adansi-Asokwa Member of Parliament said this on the Key Point with Alfred Ocabsey on TV3 Wednesday, June 14.
The 1D1F initiative is the vision of His Excellency the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to change the nature of Ghana’s economy from one which is dependent on import and export of raw materials to one which is focused on manufacturing, value addition and export of processed goods.
Several factories including the Atlantic LifeSciences Ltd have been commissioned under the initiative by the President.
The President commended the collaborative work, between the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Ghana Exim Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, Food and Drugs Authority, Traditional Authorities, and foreign partners of the company, for providing the requisite support towards the establishment of the state-of-the-art manufacturing facility.
