20 feared dead in Apam sea

Information exclusively available to obaatanparadioonline.com indicates that about 20 children have lost their lives whiles swimming in a sea at Apam, a fishing community in the Gomoa West district of the Central Region.

Confirming the incident, DSP Moses Osakono of the Apam District Police Command expressed shock at the incident.

He explained that the said location of the sad incident, which they call “Sunday Special” has been closed down ever since President Akufo-Addo ordered all beaches to close as part of Covid-19 preventive protocols.

He indicated that 10 bodies have been retrieved and sent to the Apam Roman Catholic Hospital mortuary, whiles the search team continues to retrieve the remaining bodies.

Meanwhile, Reverend Father Oteng Donfeh, Administrator of the Apam Roman Catholic Hospital has confirmed receiving 10 of the dead bodies from the accident scene, and are being processed for burial.

The Member of Parliament for Gomoa West, Hon. Richard Gyan Mensah says he is in consultation with the District Chief Executive, Hon. Bismark Inkoom, and the police to put appropriate measures in place to prevent similar occurrence in the constituency.
