Movie and it productions in Ghana has become really dormmate for the pass years now. It will be very hard to find a proper well scripted Ghanaian movies on screens this days and one will ask why the halt in our movie industry.
Most Ghanaian movie lovers blamed the movie industry and stake holders for not supporting the industry enough but seems that’s not really true.
CEO of E-Motion Production, Mr. Emmanuel Okyere has revealed the actual reason why the Ghanaian movie industry is at its current state at the moment.
According to Mr. Okyere, some stake holders has given movie producers several opportunities to shoot their movies but they took advantage of the kind gesture and misused them.
He recalled that, there was this hotel in kasoa where he wanted to shoot a movie and the kind of sad revelations he got from the hotel managers were shocking.
The hotel management told him that, there was a group of people who lodged in to their hotel as movie crew with huge bags. Because they (the hotel management) wanted to help the movie industry, they gave this people a fair deal just so they will be comfortable to produce their movie.
Sadly for them, the movie crew left their hotel with their flat screen TV’s and other valuables. “The trick they used was just like a movie scripted, says the manager.”
There was this instance where producers also charge cast money and sleep with the women who they audition. The trick they use to take money from this cast or sleep with the women is, they move them from a location to another location just to make the cast stranded and later put conditions on them.
Mr. Emmanuel Okyere concluded that, whenever a movie producer ask you to pay money for a movie role whatsoever, make sure you know what and why you are paying that money for. Dont just pay any money to any movie producer.
