The Awutu senya municipal Assembly in response to the directive by president Nana Addo to demolish structures on water ways which has been the major cause of flooding.
The Municipal engineer leading the exercise together with NADMO , Town and country planing committee and EPA, has cautioned commuters living along the Kasoa Okrudu river and houses on water ways to vacate as they mark structures with red paints giving them 3 weeks ultimatum .
Commuters are also served with summoned letters to go to the Assembly with their permit.
Obaatanpa News Mireku Nyampong in an interview with the municipal Engineer Ing. Isaac Ofori after the exercise hinted that, politicians, Traditional rulers and other prominent personalities should stay away from the demolition exercise without any interference .
According to him, in most times when they want to embark on such exercise, some leaders example politicians and chiefs will step in and stop them from doing the right thing but this time around it will be contrary to what we are used to in Ghana.
He has warned victims who shall be affected to start evacuating before 21th June, 2022.
