When Sarkodie said that Beyonce knew him before Shatta Wale, it got people buzzing on the internet.
A South African podcast run by media personality MacG, Podcast and Chill, aired the rapper’s allegation.
It wasn’t until after Beyonce worked on Lion’s King: The Gift alongside several African musicians like Ghana’s Shatta Wale, that Sarkodie informed MacG about meeting Beyonce at one of the many BET ceremonies he attended.
Beyonce approached him as he was lounging during the event, according to his account.
Sarkodie claims that Beyonce stepped in front of him and gave him a nod, but he didn’t believe she was welcoming him.
He turned to face Beyonce again, who nodded once more. Sarkodie peered back to see who she was meeting, but he couldn’t see anybody.
It was at this point that the renowned vocalist shook her head and departed.
Despite Sarkodie’s claims that he’s been keeping this news from the public for a long time, Ice Prince can attest to his integrity.
