The Senior Staff Association of Universities of Ghana has also threatened to embark on a strike action should government amongst other factors fail to implement for them a Coat of Living Allowance(COLA). The association has given government a 9 days ultimatum to grant their demands lest members would withdraw their services.
Already, 4 teacher unions have triggered a strike action over the Cost of Living Allowances(COLA).
The Senior Staff Association of Universities of Ghana who are also demanding same have threatened to withdraw their services should government fail to have their demands granted.
Addressing the media, national chairman of the Senior Staff Association of Universities of Ghana, Isaac Donkor said government has up to July 13, to grant their demands following which they would not agree for any negotiations and rather withdraw their services in all public universities across the country.
The association is also demanding for the payment of all tier-2 outstanding interests from 2010 to 2016 by government, implementation of Ghana Tertiary Education Commission’s directive on promotion and upgrading of senior staff members to senior members positions.

They say their living conditions keep deteriorating and needs the allowance to cushion them.
