Ander Harrera has settled the final details of his departure from Paris Saint-Germain with two years remaining on his deal.
The ex Manchester United midfielder’s contract was due to expire in 2024 but the Ligue 1 champions has terminated the deal and asked him to look elsewhere.
Harrera joined the Red Devils in 2014 in a £28.85 million deal — featuring in 189 appearances and helping the club to the FA cup in 2016, the EFL cup and the UEFA Europa league in 2017 before joining PSG in 2019.
He is set for a sensational return to Athletic Bilbao where he will sign as a free agent until 2024 with the option of a further year.
The 33-year-old has fallen down the pecking order and was used sparingly last season having spent three seasons with the Parisian club.
The midfielder has not been involved in PSG’s opening matches of the Ligue 1 season.
His move back to Bilbao will see him reunite with Ernesto Valverde who was in charge during Harrera’s final year before his move to Manchester United.
