Paris St-Germain edged out Juventus to begin their Champions League opener with a hard earned 2-1 victory on Tuesday night at Parc des Princes.
Kylian Mbappe hits a brace while Weston Mckennie got the consolation for Juventus.
Mbappe and Neymar connected perfectly to produce the opener just after five minutes of play — the Brazilian found Mbappe inside the penalty box with a sumptuous lofted pass and the Frenchman brilliantly volleyed home cold-bloodedly to open the scoring.
He doubled the lead even before the half hour mark with a low strike after a delightful one-two with Achraf Hakimi.
From there the onslaught continued but Mbappe missed some glorious opportunities and Juventus were left off the hook.
Substitute Weston McKennie’s powerful header could only count as a consolation as the visitors failed to find a way.
Benfica edged Maccabi Haifa 2-0 in the other Group H game.
