AS Roma strolled pass HJK Helsinki to record their first win in the Europa League in a Group C fixture at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.
After falling to defeat to Ludogorets in their opening match, Jose Mourinho’s side needed a positive result to shake off that upset and the boys responded perfectly with a resounding victory.
Helsinki were one man down just after 14 minutes of proceedings but they managed to fought back Roma’s onslaught in the entire first half. The second half however was going to be messy for the visitors.
Paulo Dybala came off the bench and broke the defences of 10-man HJK Helsinki before Lorenzo Pelligrini doubled the lead two minutes later while Andrea Belotti struck the third in the 68th minute to register his first goal for Roma.
Elsewhere in Spain, 41-year-Joaquin proved age is just a number as he scored to help Real Betis edge pass Ludogorets by 3-2.
Betis sits on top of the group with six points while Ludogorets are level on three points with Roma.
