University of Education, Winneba level 400 students staged a protest because management had neglected to update the students’ academic records.
Even though the protesting students blocked media and police from entering the campus, information pieced together by Obaatanpa News Mireku Nyampong indicates that the move was conducted due to the University’s data processing unit which failed to update the students’ annual academic records.
In order to be on the safe side should they dispute their Grade Point Average (GPA) in the future, students who will soon be finishing their studied courses claim they are unable to assess their academic progress.
They feel this is an intentional move on the part of the management.
Neither the student government nor the university administration were prepared to address the matter.
Police and the student have engaged in combat, during which tear gas has already been discharged.
