Traditional leaders have failed in their role in the movie industry – David Dontoh

According to Mr. David Dontoh, Chairman of the National Films Authority of Ghana, the Traditional Leaders of the nation are ignoring their responsibility to help promote Ghanaian culture via film.

He thinks the fascinating history, culture, and traditions of the country’s traditional places might be better preserved and promoted if they were properly documented.

You know, it’s weird; most of our conventional councils are sound sleeping. Why hasn’t there been a good documentary done about a traditional event in Ghana? Actor David Dontoh, known as “Ace,” said during a studio debate on ETV that “we should be able to achieve it.”

He believes that the Ghanaian government is neglecting a significant part of the film business by not putting more attention on films that showcase the country’s vibrant cultural traditions, such as its many festivals.

You wouldn’t believe how many people would go to see a documentary depicting a typical regional event if you saw a preview. Because people can identify with the characters you’re describing in the tales you’re presenting, he reasoned.
