Bernard Antwi Bosiako, better known by his nickname, Chairman Wontumi, is the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party.
A new development involving his mining equipment has caused him to lose his appetite today.
The Samartex Timber and Plywood Company Limited of Samreboi have reportedly set fire to a mining vehicle owned by the Akonta Mining Company, a member of the Wontumi Group of Companies.
The business tycoon expressed his sadness over the tragedy on the Morning Show of Wontumi TV in Kumasi on September 30.
According to him, Samartex was trying to undermine his mining firm. He alludes that he’s keeping silent since he knows that emotions can’t be utilized to solve issues.
“I have kept quiet because you can’t use emotions to solve problems. You have to be rational,” he complained.
Chairman Wontumi added, “it’s a plot by the Samartex Timber and Wood Company to destroy my company.”
He claims that the timber firm has no legal standing to burn his property since he has a legitimate contract with the landowner until the year 2035.
