Concern has been voiced by the administrators of Pomposo Akaporiso Basic School in Obuasi over the manner in which authorities in charge of the Ghana School Feeding Programme have neglected the school’s students.
According to Nana Gyamena, who serves as Chairman of the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) at the school, the number of students who actually show up to class has substantially decreased in recent years.
He disclosed that some were compelled to go back to their homes during break time in order to get food since they had not benefitted from the program since the beginning of the semester.
During an interview on the Kuro Yi Mu Nsem program on Nhyira FM, he said that students had not been provided with food since the beginning of the current school year.
During the preceding school year’s academic calendar, the school food program was likewise behind schedule due to delays.
However, it is still unknown when the current predicament will begin to improve. They encouraged the authorities to find ways to encourage the students to show up to class.
