Former Communications Team member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and founder of the National Liberation Congress Stephen Atubiga has described Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia as a credible Northerner, who is as clean as Jesus Christ in heaven.
His defense of Dr Bawumia’s credibility come at a time Dr Bawumia is facing criticism after it emerged that Charles Adu Boahen, Minister of State in Charge of Finance (sacked today) had told investigators from Anas Aremeyaw Anas’s Tiger Eye PI that Dr Bawumia was willing to accept money to facilitate their investment interests in the country.
While some seem to believe that Dr Bawumia’s credibility has been lowered by the investigations, Mr Atubiga believes that Dr Bawumia remains squeaky clean.
“Dr Bawumia is as clean as Jesus in heaven. He is one of our credible Northerners still stall tall,” he posted on social media.
Meanwhile following revelations of Mr Adu-Boahen’s influence peddling, he has been sacked by the President.
But Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has described his integrity as a priceless asset which he has labored over the years to build.
He has subsequently served notice that he won’t allow people to use his name for corrupt activities because his integrity remains his major trump card
Dr. Bawumia reacted swiftly on his Facebook page on Monday, following allegations by Anas Aremeyao Anas that a Minister of State at the Ministry of Finance, Charles Adu Boahen, had used the Vice President’s name to solicit for $200,000 from investors, in order for he (Adu Boahen) to facilitate a meeting with the Vice President.
In his strongly worded reaction on Facebook, Dr. Bawumia, who is regarded by many as one of the decent politicians around, fumed at the alleged conduct of the Minister, adding that he was not aware of any such dealing by the Minister.
