Youth and Sports Minister, Mustapha Ussif has confirmed that some Ghanaian football fans in Qatar have been arrested and processed for court for selling world cup match tickets.
The Minister made this remark in Doha, during a visit to the Ghanaian contingent who have made their way to support the Black stars.
In his address, Mustapha Ussif appealed to the supporters to desist from selling the match tickets they have toiled to secure for them.
“We want to appeal to you to be moderate and discipline in whatever we are doing. I also want to appeal to you that the police and the security agencies are always at the various stadiums monitoring things. We have toiled to get you tickets.”
“We don’t want any of you to go out and sell the tickets we have given you. So far, the authorities have arrested some people and they are taking them to court.”
“They have sent the evidence to the Ambassador. We don’t want anybody to fall to this. We are appealing to you to ensure that everyone gets tickets to access the stadium. Once you have it, protect it. Don’t lose it for somebody to pick it and sell.”
Mustapha Ussif was in the company of the Ambassador of Ghana to Qatar, Mohamed Noureddine Ismail and some security operatives during the visit.
In his remark, Mohammed Nouredine Ismail lauded the Ghanaian delegation for showing discipline so far and encouraged them to continue showing the rich culture of Ghana.
