Chelsea has confirmed the signing of Mykhailo Mudryk from Shakhtar Donetsk on a long-term deal.
The Ukrainian international and has put pen to paper on an eight-and-a-half year contract worth over £88 million.
He has been a long term target for Premier League rivals Arsenal but the Chelsea has sensationally managed to snatch him away from the Gunners.
On completing his move to Chelsea Mudryk “I’m so happy to sign for Chelsea,
this is a huge club, in a fantastic league and it is a very attractive project for me at this stage of my career. I’m excited to meet my new team-mates and I’m looking forward to working and learning under Graham Potter and his staff”.
The silky and skilful 22-year-old has 18 goal involvements in all competitions this season including three goals and two assists in the Champions League group stage.
Mudryk joined the Shakhtar Donetsk academy in 2016 and went on loan to Arsenal Kyiv and Desna Chernigiv before making is first-team breakthrough in the 2021/22 season, with two goals and seven assists in 11 league games.
He was named Shakhtar’s player of the year twice in a row in 2021 and 2022.
The winger earned his first cap for the Ukraine national team in May 2022 and has so far made 8 appearances.
