Real Madrid thrashed Egyptian giants Al Ahly 4-1 to reach the FIFA Club World Cup final in Morocco on Wednesday.
Goals from Vinicius Jr, Federico Valverde, Rodrygo and Sergio Arribas secured a comfortable victory for the LaLiga side to book a spot in the final.
Real struggled to breakdown Al Ahly’s well organised defence until the stroke of halftime when Vinicius slot home from close range.
Right after the resumption, Valverde tapped into an empty net after a rebound to double the lead for los Blancos before Hussein El Shahat converted from the spot to reduce the deficit.
The Spanish giants squandered numerous opportunities with Modric missing a penalty but there was no cause for alarm as Rodrygo and substitute Arribas completed a comfortable win in stoppage time.
Real Madrid will face Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal in the final on Saturday after they shockingly defeated South American champions Flamengo 3-2 in the first semi-final.
