Gershon Addo is an international Ghanaian American recording artist based in the United States. He was born in Paterson, New Jersey and raised in Accra Ghana, West Africa. At age 18, he relocated back to the US where he met his beautiful wife Edith Addo and together five amazing children. Gershon is a worship leader, songwriter, musician and producer.
While living in Chicago, he formed a Christian band (New Generation Levites)with his lovely wife. This group consist of skilled musicians and vocalist who has a burning passion for God’s kingdom. Their impact has spun across the US and the globe bringing joy and the message of hope through music. They have released several albums and singles with a unique and authentic style. Gershon and his team recently hosted a live recording worship experience titled, “His Presence His Kingdom “ which is expected to be release this year.
Gershon’s hope and desire is that lives will be changed, transformed and all who will encounter their music encounters Jesus.
ABOUT YEWO NYAME
Gershon Addo received a revelation during the pandemic lockdown in 2020 to do a rendition of one of the most popular Ghanaian hymns Yewo Nyame. Gershon’s unique musical style and influence is fully displayed in this masterpiece as he worked with his team bringing this song to life. He added original arrangements in the second half of the song to give it an anthem feel.
He hopes that this anthem will resound in the hearts of people and raise a hope about the awareness of a God who will always come through for His people. Gershon also featured his good friend Ghana’s very own gospel artist Denzel Prempeh .
They recorded it live in Chicago in October of 2022. Gershon has been well known internationally by the release of his rendition of Kaashe Gbeyei in 2021 which went viral all over the world and his version is still one of the most inspirational and sort after releases on social media till date. He finds so much Joy in bringing house hold Christian songs he grew up with in Ghana to the world.
