Reggae/Dancehall artist, Livingstone Satekla popularly known as Stonebwoy has recently shed light on the meaning behind his chart-topping track ‘Apotheke’ and the captivating story that inspired its creation.
The Amapiano-infused music featured on his highly acclaimed 5th Dimension Album has captivated fans with its rich lyrics and infectious beats, prompting curiosity about its origins.
In an exclusive interview with TV3, Stonebwoy delved into the depths of ‘Apotheke’ and shared the personal narrative that led to its inclusion on his latest album.
The term ‘Apotheke,’ which translates to ‘Pharmacy’ in English, carries a metaphorical weight, symbolizing the idea of healing but Stonebwoy acknowledged that he and his producer were just catching ‘cruise’ with the term.

“Let me share the story behind it, it means pharmacy. When you go to Germany, you’ll see it written on the signage, Apotheke,” recounted the Bhim Nation C.E.O. “I asked my guy at that time what does this Apotheke even mean? It was a funny word to me”
The dancehall and reggae sensation further unveiled the backstory behind the song, recounting the fun experience that propelled him to create this uplifting anthem.
“Pardon me but myself and my producer were just having fun, we used ‘Apotheke’ and ‘Ampo Ky3 Ky3’ to represent someone who doesn’t reject anything, it’s a dance song,” he told AJ Sarpong and Berla Mundi on New Day.
