The nine school children who drowned in the estuary between Faana and Wiaboman have been laid to rest at the Bortianor cemetery.The families who also lost their children received ten thousand cedi each as support from the two Municipal Assembly and the Two Mps.
It was all tears as family, friends, and loved ones gathered at the Bortianor Palace Court to bid farewell to the deceased children.
Mourners were seen shedding tears in honour of the deceased children, while some still expressed shock at the incident.
According to Henry Quartey, the Greater Accra Regional Minister, the findings from the committee that has been set up will be enforced after the two week period given to them.
He indicted that an amount of the thousand cedi each be given to the families as part òf support package from the two assemblie and their MPs while urging the families to make good use of the money.

Owner of Vision Redeemers Academy, one of the schools that lost some of it’s school children to the disaster say they still live in shock.
According to Reverend Joe Alfred Don, the wife fainted upon hearing of the news of the children drowning.
He explained that he personally bought a canoe to ferry the children to and from school, but unfortunately, on the day of the incident, the children didn’t use the bigger canoe of the school, leading to to the disaster.
