New Kumawu projects not to sway voters for by-election – Amoako Atta

The Government has refuted accusations that recent infrastructural development in the Kumawu Constituency is to influence voters ahead of the by-election.

The town which had not seen any major upgrade has in the last few days seen major development ahead of the bye-election.

Several untarred roads in the area have been asphalted while construction of new roads has commenced.

Residents in Kumawu will on Tuesday, May 23rd elect a new MP following the demise of Philip Basoah in March.

But speaking to journalists Roads and Highways Minister, Kwesi Amoako Atta said the projects were already being worked on and not as a result of the impending by-election.

“The entire road project had already been procured for the contractor. The people of this area, from Juaben to Kumawu will be living witnesses of what is going to happen after the bye-election of May 23.

“They will see whether the contractor is going to stop work or not, and it will put to shame all this false information.”
