Most Ghanaian Musicians Are Lazy When It Comes To Music Promotions – Kwodwo Sheldon

Ghanaian YouTube personality and content creator Bernard Kwadwo Amoafo, who is also known as Kwadwo Sheldon revealed some interesting factors in regards to music promotions in Ghana on Obaatanpa Radio with Ogboro Naghty DJ.

Kwadwo Sheldon made it known that, music promotion basically stands on the artiste promoting his music. The artiste does majority of the hard work to get his/her music out there loud for public consumption.

He stated that, most Ghanaian musicians become lazy after they release an album or an extended play (EP), they just share theirs links on the first day and go to sleep because they believe they are super talented and by sharing their links ones, the music or album will just blow by itself.

According to him, some people are lucky to sell their music on the very first release, and this is based on the lyrical content of the project.

Kwadwo Sheldon advised young talents to believe in their works because they are the main people who are supposed to push their agenda. Music is not just a thing that you record and go to sleep on it. You really need to push hard to get that attention you are looking for. Until then, keep pushing.

Sheldon also stressed on the fact that musicians find it difficult in getting record labels in Ghana. He made it clear that, before a record label signs a musician, the record label actually investigates your social numbers and craft properly before you get signed, but most young people sign deals without knowing much about the contract. They only care about the cash involved hence they don’t succeed at the end of the day.

Kwadwo Sheldon concluded by saying that, we need an infrastructure in Ghana where both young and old musicians get educated properly about the music business they are in just so they get to understand the trade very well. You dont need to sign a contract with a record label because they are offering you big money, but rather you need to know the terms and other attractions around the contract you are signing.
