Henry Quartey, the Greater Accra Regional Minister, has announced that the La General Hospital in the region has been included in the government’s Agenda 111 project. He mentioned that the contractor is expected to initiate construction by November at the latest.
The La General Hospital reconstruction project has been a concern for the community, as the health facility was demolished two years ago for the purpose of redevelopment to enhance healthcare services in the area. However, work has not yet commenced on the site, leading to worries among residents.
The Municipal Chief Executive for La Dade-Kotopon, Solomon Kotey Nikoi, raised this issue during a meeting with the Regional Minister. In response, Henry Quartey assured residents that the government is committed to ensuring the completion of the project as soon as possible. He stated that a decision has been made at the Cabinet level, and the Agenda 111 initiative will be taking over the project to commence the construction work.
Agenda 111 is a government initiative aimed at constructing 111 district and regional hospitals, providing state-of-the-art healthcare facilities across Ghana to improve access to quality healthcare services.
