We believe in Kennedy Agyapong – Agbogbloshie traders

Agbogbloshie

Traders at the Agbogbloshie in the Greater Accra region, have thrown their full support behind Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, an aspirant for the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer position.

The queen mother of the tomato sellers at Agbogbloshie, Doris Adjei, expressed her conviction in an interview with The Independent Ghana, stating that among the four candidates contending for the NPP’s flagbearer position, Kennedy Agyapong is the most suitable to lead the party to victory.

She emphasized that the time had come for Ghanaians to unite behind this NPP aspirant because he possesses all the necessary qualities to bring about positive transformation in Ghana.

However, she added that Ghanaians have the power to vote Kennedy Agyapong out of office should he fail to fulfill his promises, just as they have done with previous leaders who did not live up to expectations.

“Let’s give Kennedy Agyapong a chance; if he doesn’t deliver on his promises, we can vote him out. I believe we should support Kennedy Agyapong because he has so much to offer Ghana. Voting is no longer solely about politics; it’s about selecting someone who can genuinely improve the state of Ghana,” she emphasized.

Another trader who chimed in, emphasised the importance of NPP members coming together to support Mr. Agyapong, as he possesses the capability to provide relief to the people, in contrast to the other candidates.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the NPP in the Savannah Region, Alhaji Iddrisu Sulemana, also known as Professor Kalamonia, has brimmed with confidence in Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s popularity within the region.

He boldly predicted that Dr. Bawumia will receive an overwhelming endorsement, with over 95% of the votes, in the forthcoming NPP presidential primaries slated for November 4.

This declaration came during the inauguration of the newly established Savannah Region NPP Office complex in Damongo on Saturday, October 28, 2023.

The party’s upcoming presidential primary is scheduled for November 4, 2023.

This crucial event aims to determine the party’s flagbearer for the upcoming 2024 general elections.

The election will be conducted across all 16 regions of the country, representing a significant milestone in the party’s democratic process.

The presidential primary features a spirited competition among four candidates, each vying for the NPP’s coveted nomination.

These contenders are Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Member of Parliament for Assin, Dr. Owusu Akoto Afriyie, former MP for Mampong, Francis Addai-Nimoh, and Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, who hails from the Central Region.
