A fire broke out in Kyiribaa, a suburb of Berekum in the Bono Region, engulfing three bedrooms, a kitchen, a store, and a bathroom.
The incident left over 10 tenants homeless. The fire started at dawn, and although Nora Agyei Yamoah, a witness, quickly informed her grandmother, the fire had already spread significantly by the time they sought help from the fire service.
Some tenants lost everything in their rooms, and there are concerns about the frequent power outages in the area (dumsor) possibly contributing to the fire outbreak.
The Fire Service is investigating the cause.
