Nigerian music stars, Daniel Anidugbe, aka Kizz Daniel and Miles Kelechi, aka Tekno, were embroiled in a public spat after a social media post claimed that Kizz Daniel had been sending Tekno a share of the revenue generated by hit song “Buga.”
The controversy was ignited by an X post from an account (name withheld) that alleged an interview where Tekno talked about Kizz Daniel.
The allegation post on April 14 said, “I got on Kizz Daniel’s Buga with no sort of legal agreement. I wasn’t expecting anything from him. Wanted to be silent about this but I think some levels of gratitude deserve to be spoken of.
“Do y’all know Kizz Daniel sends me 50% of every revenue he generates from that song? After his buga tour he sent me close to a billion naira and I was already shocked enough by that move. He didn’t end just there. Every month, I receive millions as my own share of the revenue generated by Buga on streaming platforms… Kizz is a great guy I can’t lie” ~ Tekno Reveals…”
Reacting to the post on the same day, Tekno denied the claims, writing, “Him money no reach. anybody wey put out that fake interview, thunder fire your mama…”
However on Monday, nearly two weeks after the post, Kizz Daniel, in turn, responded to Tekno’s statement with a sarcastic remark, saying, “Dem mention money, you sef dey talk. Spewing shit like an*s. See ekuke way we rescue with BUGA !! Oloribu omo ale.”
Our Source reports that this saga is coming alongside the online battle between musical stars, Ayodeji Balogun, also known as Wizkid, and David Adedeji, a.k.a Davido, which continued Monday night.
Wizkid had earlier thrown a shade at Davido. While responding to a fan’s request on X for new music, he posted a leaked video of Davido begging who was believed to be a female associate.
The Grammy award-winning singer also dismissed the successful music producer and label owner, Don Jazzy, as an ‘influencer’,
Reacting, Tekno fired back, “Hope you are trending now fool! Careful o, breeze blow, fowl nyash dey open. I’m not the one to be played with before I Kattwilliams yours Ass #insecurenarcissist.”
This generated uproar on the micro-blogging platform with many wondering what could be wrong with both men.
However, Davido, on Monday night dropped a series of cryptic tweets believed to be responses to the Ojuelegba crooner.
In one of the tweets, Davido said, “Dem no know your Gbedu”, believed to be aimed at Wizkid who said he would drop his much anticipated Morayo album in May.
Not stopping, the Aiye crooner tweeted, “When light comes, darkness vanishes. Let get active.
In a development late Monday night at 11.08pm, Wizkid wrote on X, “U know what..no point. delusional niggas pray for y’all.”
However, Davido was quick to respond saying at 11:12pm, “We not delusional, You’re a sick man.”
Wizkid replied with two laughing emojis and the leaked viral video of Davido where he was seen on his knees crying and begging someone believed to be a female associate.
Davido then replied, “That’s what I thought. Nothing to say! Exactly why I stopped wasting my clout and jeopardizing my millions of usd of endorsements on someone whose career was resurrected a few years ago just to die again. NEXT!!”
Wizkid, however, was quick to respond, dismissing Davido’s claims and asserting his own superiority, “I got nun to say to u my boy! I can retire today and you still not on my level. You be influencer with a song writer. Wish u well,” he remarked.
The public spat between the two music giants has sent shockwaves through the Nigerian entertainment industry and beyond, with fans and observers alike commenting and showing support for their favourites.
