Former Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association, Ibrahim Sannie Daara, has implored Ghanaians to allow Black Stars head coach, Otto Addo, to decide whether to include Andre Ayew in his squad for the World Cup qualifiers scheduled for June 2024.
The Black Stars have two matches against Mali and the Central African Republic in the qualifiers, and as such, Otto Addo is expected to name his squad for these matches.
Although there have been reports that the coach has communicated his decision to build his team around young players, it is unknown if he will name Andre Ayew as one of the experienced players in the squad.
Arguing on the subject of Andre Ayew’s inclusion, Ibrahim Sannie Daara said, “It is up to the coaches to decide. If I say you should invite him, then people will say it is Sannie who said we should invite Dede.
“If the coach will invite him or not, it is his prerogative. His performances during the season are in front of him to assess and make his decision.
“Even though we are presenting the receipts of his performances to the coaches, it is their decision to invite him or not. But as for his performances, it is there for everyone to see, including the coaches,” he said on Asempa FM.
