I celebrate Okudzeto Ablakwa – PPP Chairman on corruption exposé

Okudzeto Ablakwa

National Chairman of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP), Nana Ofori Owusu has hailed the Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa for his anti-corruption fight.

According to him, but for his exposés, the country’s taxes would have gone into individual pockets.

The North Tongu legislature has been on the forefront of an anti-corruption crusade in the country.

He has among other things exposed the rot in the National Cathedral project, SSNIT Hotel sale and recently an award of $34.9m ambulance spare parts deal by former Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta.

To ensure the issue is probed, Okudzeto Ablakwa has petitioned the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) to investigate the alleged $34.9 million (GH₵538 million) procurement deal for ambulance spare parts.

Reacting to this on Adom FM’s morning show, Dwaso Nsem Tuesday, Nana Ofori Owusu said the North Tongu MP deserves commendation.

He could not fathom why government would pay a whopping GH₵538 million just for spare parts when infact a new ambulance cost about $59,000.

The PPP National Chairman said the North Tongu MP has done a yeoman’s job to expose the rot in government.

He also commended the whistleblowers who gave Okudzeto Ablakwa the documents for his exposés.

Nana Ofori Owusu said he will continue to pray for the North Tongu legislator to continue the good work.
