Limited space impeding ‘Heal KATH project’ – Adu Boakye

Chairman of the Heal Komfo Anokye Project, Sammy Adu Boakye, has highlighted the lack of space for relocating patients, which is impeding the project’s development.

The Heal Komfo Anokye Project, initiated by the Asantehene, Osei Tutu II, aims to enhance the infrastructure of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.

Speaking to Citi News, Mr Boakye revealed that some blocks of the hospital are 60% completed and are expected to be finalised by the end of August.

“We do not have the space to move the patients so that we can have access to do the work holistically as we have planned. It’s the lack of space that we can’t send the patients away, because the hospital is still in operation. That is a major setback we have.

“However, the project was planned to be a 24-month project, so we do not mind extending it to 36 months, we have done very well, close to $4 million. However, we can only say that there’s more room for improvement.

“As the project progresses, the scope also expands. The A5, A4 and A3 blocks are about 60% complete. We’re pushing so hard to complete those floors by the end of August,” the Chairman of the Heal Komfo Anokye Project said.
