KORLE BU NURSES DISASSOCIATE THEMSELVES FROM “GRNMA backs Korle Bu CEO” AS MEDIA SCHEME HIT ROCKS.

The media grand scheme to paint a positive picture that, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, Dr. Opoku Ware Ampomah has the endorsement of the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association(GRNMA) has failed as leadership and members of the nurses front disassociate themselves from media publications.

In an emphatical disclosure to our reporter, the nurse said, statement made by the Ag. Greater Accra Regional GRNMA Mr. Jefferson Asare Dankwah In the media interview reflects his personal comments and does not in any form represents position of members nurses in the Korle Bu GRNMA region. The nurses also stated that the Korle bu local president knows of their issues in Korle Bu better than the Ag. Greater Accra Regional Chairman hence his decision to decline the interview when he was asked to do so.

The Korle Bu nurses stressed that the meeting held with the Nurses at the Obstetrics and Gynecology conference in Korle Bu on Tuesday October 1, 2024, with the attendance of Dr. Opoku Ware Ampomah, and the Ag. Greater Accra GRNMA amongst the issues discussed were; accommodation, especially delays in allocation, high rent deductions, delays in signing promotion, conversion and upgrade letters, inadequate supply of Water to the hospital, CEO”s achievement in the past four years and his vision for the future, and omission from 13th month salary payment.

The visible angry nurses mentioned that CEO’s tenure extension and demonstration never came up for discussion and it’s therefore surprising to read in cross section of the media that members of the nurses backs the CEO’s extensions. The president of the Korle Bu chapter GRNMA during the meeting expressed his displeasure about the media presence and asked who was behind it and therefore declined to grant interview to the media.

The nursing chapter further dismissed the assertion that the nurses in hospital are not part of Korle Bu Senior Staff Association (KOSSA) stating the current Secretary of KOSSA is a nurse.

The general public and all stakeholders have therefore been encourage to treat the publication in the media space with contempt it deserve and constraint to the dustbin.
