Certified voters register for 2024 elections expected early November – EC Chair

Electoral Commission

The Electoral Commission (EC) has announced that the certified voter register for the 2024 general elections will be ready and made available in the first week of November.

This was revealed by EC Chairperson, Jean Mensa, during an Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting on Tuesday, October 15, 2024.

In her address, Mrs Mensa assured stakeholders that the Commission is fully committed to ensuring the accuracy and comprehensiveness of the voters’ register, which will include all eligible voters registered during the exercises conducted in 2020, 2023, and 2024.

The EC has been working rigorously to resolve any discrepancies and ensure that the final register is reliable for the upcoming elections.

This step comes as part of the Commission’s broader effort to maintain transparency and integrity in the electoral process.

Mrs Mensa further noted that “Over the last two weeks we have spent our energies to clean the PVR to ensure the information presented on the register is accurate. Simply put, we have worked to ensure that every applicant who registered in 2020, 2023, and 2024 are in the voters register.”

“We are confident that the revised PVR that we present starting today is a marked departure from the register we presented during the exhibition exercise as largely all the discrepancies presented to date have been fixed.”
