An Educationist, Mr. Wisdom Ativi has urged teachers and parents to avoid canning children as a disciplinary measure. He said they could use other forms of punishment which would not be injurious to the children.
Mr Asamoah gave the advice at a Math’s and Science Quiz Competition organization by Osam Dadze Edutainment.
It was attended by head teachers, teachers and stakeholders in education. The quiz saw some Private Schools in Kasoa, Gomoa East and Ga South Municipalities competing.
At the end of the quiz for upper Primary Schools, Faith of Glory Academy placed 4th position, Cheerful Child School placed 3rd, Early Bloomers placed 2nd and Nkosinathi Education Centre emerged as winners.
At the end of the contest for the JHS schools, Nkosinathi Education Centre placed 3rd, Everest Academy placed 2nd and Moving Star Int. School emerged as Winners for the JHS competition.
Mr Asamoah asked teachers to create an atmosphere, which would enable the students to approach them whenever they were in difficulty to ensure the promotion of teaching and learning in the schools.
Mr. Wisdom who was the Quiz Master at the competition calls on parents to encourage and allow their wards take up Science and Maths related course and subjects as the modern education embraces STEM education.
