Election 2024: We’ll carefully scrutinise final voters’ register – NDC

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has stated that it will closely examine the summary of the final certified voter register for the upcoming general elections.

This summary was released by the Electoral Commission (EC) following the NDC’s request for additional data beyond the final register already shared with political parties.

In an interview with Citi News, Dr. Rashid Tanko Computer, the NDC’s Deputy Director of Elections and IT, expressed concerns about inconsistencies in the data provided.

He specifically highlighted issues such as the unexplained removal of certain polling stations, stating that the NDC would thoroughly review the register summary to ensure the EC addresses these discrepancies appropriately.

“We picked the register today with the summaries. So we are currently studying the register as a body and comparing that with their summaries. And then we also demanded their regional summaries because what they gave us was the national summary. It didn’t include the regional summaries.

“Well-intentioned, we will look at that. Their segregation of the special voters from the main register. I mean, this is an innovation they are just creating. Their statement indicated that they have collapsed some polling stations, which of course we are not aware.

“This is a new thing they have done. We have studied it. We will look at it. And then we think we will make our verdict clearer very soon.”
