Bernard Allotey Jacobs alleges that Speaker Alban Bagbin’s declaration of certain seats in Parliament as vacant was a maneuver targeting the presidential candidate of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
He observed that the Speaker’s choice was a “sinister move” aimed at Dr. Bawumia plans to challenge his win on December 7. The former NDC Central Regional Chairman and Social Commentator believes that the recent parliamentary deadlock, sparked by the Speaker’s declaration, is just propaganda to stir up unrest before the election.
“There is a hidden agenda behind the Speaker of Parliament’s decision. “There is a demon in it and that demon is using the constitution, specifically the Parliamentary system, as a weapon to attack the current government; ultimately leading to disorder and lawlessness. However, Ghanaians have intelligence and will definitely think critically,” Allotey Jacobs explained.
Joining the ‘Kokrokoo’ panel discussion on Peace FM, Allotey Jacobs emphasized that there are no plots against Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia by the opposition party including Speaker Bagbin will succeed.
“The time is up! As a nation, we need good leaders, visionary leaders, leaders who can think beyond the box to lead this country and that is why a lot of Ghanaians are supporting Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. You cannot utilize these political disputes to diminish the success of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia noted.
