ELECTION 2024 : HUMAN RIGHTS REPORTERS GHANA CALLS ON YOUTHS TO PRIORITISE PEACE AND DESIST FROM VIOLENCE

The Founder and Executive Director of Human Rights Reporters Ghana, Dr. Joseph Kobla Wemakor has called on the Ghanaian youths to desist actions of violence as they contribute towards the promotion of peace and the development of the country.

Speaking to journalists shortly after being honored Humanitarian Doctorate Degree executive leadership by the International Kingdom University in USA Florida at the just ended 24th Edition of the Global Doctoral Humanitarian and Ministerial Excellence Awards, he said there is the need to continually urge the youth to desist from causing mayhem in the up-coming general elections and inculcate in them the spirit of patriotism.

He said building the youth in the spirit of patriotism would make them ‘nation-building oriented’ when they take over the mandate of leadership in the future.

Dr. Joseph said nation-building needs the collective effort of the citizenry, to help achieve the required impact.

He said the country needs a peaceful atmosphere which is the pre-requisite for the growth of multi-party democracy.

Dr. Joseph urged the youth to refrain from causing mayhem and using violence and abusive language to settle scores.

Dr. Joseph Kobla Wemakor seized the opportunity and called on the Youth to inculcate the spirit of commitment and dedication as it is so that has earned him his Doctorate Award.

On his part, the Project Coordinator for the Greater Accra Metropolitan Area Sanitation and Water Project, Dr. ING. George Asiedu made a passionate appeal to all individuals to prioritise Sanitation in their surroundings as it a way to end the recent cholera outbreak in the country.
