Some armed policemen and civilians on Wednesday morning, November 27, 2024 stormed the premises of metro TV around Alisa Hotel, North Ridge in Accra to disrupt a live production.
Host of the station’s morning show, Randy Abbey, who announced the incident on air indicated that the armed persons stormed the premises to injure some of the security personnel when they attempted stopping them from entering the studios.
It is unclear the reason behind the attack by the armed men.
“We do not know what it is for, but they were trying to forcibly enter the studio,” said Randy Abbey.
Editor of the Insight Newspaper, Kwasi Pratt and Dr Richard Asante Yeboah, Executive Secretary, Public Servants Housing Loan Scheme were guests on the Good Morning Ghana show when the incident occurred.

Kwesi Pratt Jnr., Managing Editor of the Insight Newspaper, who was part of the panel at the studio retorted during the host’s narration that “they are still trying to enter the studio”, with Abbey indicating their private security’s attempt to stop them.
He announced that the incident necessitated an abrupt break they took on the show.
One security guard of the TV station has reportedly been injured.
TV3’s Noble Crosby Annan who reported from the scene of the incident said police officers were at the premises of the TV station to calm the situation.
Management of the TV station is said to hold a crunch meeting to ascertain the reason for the attack and the way forward.
