Odododiodioo NDC candidate accuses NPP of plotting election day disruptions

Odododiodioo

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for the Odododiodioo constituency, Alfred Nii Kotey Ashie, has alleged that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is planning to disrupt the upcoming December 7 elections.

According to Ashie, the NPP intends to deploy individuals disguised in long sleeves to stuff ballot boxes and use fake military officers at polling stations two hours before the polls close.

He revealed that the NDC has filed a formal report with the police, based on intelligence the party claims to have gathered.

Speaking to journalists after monitoring the special voting exercise at the Jamestown Police Station, Ashie Kotey emphasised that the NDC will take measures to safeguard its interests and protect the ballot if law enforcement authorities fail to address their concerns.

“We have picked up signals on what they intend to do, we have picked up signals on getting people to wear long sleeves and sneaking papers into their sleeves, and also fake military personnel who will be coming about two hours to the end of the elections.

“In response to that, we had a meeting with the regional police command and we have informed them of the signals we have picked up, and he has assured us that nothing of that sort happens”.
