Agbogbloshie scrap dealers threaten to vote against NPP

Agbogbloshie

Scrap dealers at Agbogbloshie Old Fadama, within the Odododiodio constituency, have vowed to vote against the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for what they describe as a failure to develop the land they were evicted from by the then Greater Accra Regional Minister, Henry Quartey.

According to the dealers, their trade has been severely impacted by the eviction, as the area has now become a dumping site.

Speaking in an interview with Citi News, the Chairman of the Scrap Dealers Association at Agbogbloshie Old Fadama, Ussif Mahama, stated that they have resolved to vote for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the upcoming elections.

“The demolition of the scrap yard harmed us a lot and we are not happy for what they did to us. We are surprised to see that they have been dumping rubbish here.

“We see that it is very painful to sack scrap dealers and use the land as a dumping site which is very bad. We are only praying that the NDC should come back to power so that we will come back.”
