The shooting incident
The fatal shooting incident targeted the vehicle of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate in the Awutu Senya East Constituency.
The tragic event reportedly occurred near the candidate’s residence, creating panic within the community.
Eyewitness accounts suggested the incident began as a heated dispute among party supporters before escalating into violence.
The Gunmen opened fire on the candidate’s vehicle.
Earlier in the day, a separate shooting incident at Odupongpehe Zion Park, unrelated to politics, left one person injured.
The altercation, linked to a chieftaincy dispute, occurred near a polling station.
The suspect reportedly had an argument with another individual, which led to the shooting.
The gunfire missed the intended target, hitting an innocent bystander instead.
