The Electoral Commission (EC) has provided an official account of the disruptions that affected the collation process in nine constituencies following the 2024 general elections.
The constituencies impacted by these disruptions include Fanteakwa North, Nsawam-Adoagyiri, Techiman South, Ablekuma North, Okaikwei Central, Tema Central, Dome-Kwabenya, Ahafo Ano North, Obuasi East, Ahafo Ano South West, Akwatia, and Suhum.
The interruptions, largely attributed to actions by political parties, led to a temporary halt in the collation of results in these areas.
The EC reported incidents where returning officers were coerced by political parties into declaring candidates as winners under duress, faced threats to their lives and encountered disruptions involving ballot papers or pink sheets.
In a detailed statement, the EC outlined the specific circumstances of the disruptions in each constituency and assured the public of its commitment to resolving the issues while maintaining the integrity of the electoral process.
