The Minister of Health, Dr. Kwaku Agyemang-Manu has today launched a Mobile Online Information System (MOIS) platform which will digitize and make more efficient the services of Health Facilities Regulatory Agency (HeFRA).
The event which took place at the Alisa Hotel in Accra is one of the digital vehicles for development by the government.
The regulatory authority this month signed a provisional agreement with an IT firm to provide online mobile application services to enhance operational activities of HeFRA. The Mobile Online Information System will allow submission of documents (Registration), updating of files, scheduling of Inspections, verification of the status of licence and as well as obtaining vital information regarding Monitoring and changes to policy guidelines.
According to the minister, HeFRA going digital has come at the right time because digitization is one of the important tools that president Akufo-Addo’s government is using to improve efficiency in the delivery of the public services.
The Dormaa Central Legislature commanded the board and management of HeFRA in joining other health agencies and bringing the invasion of digitization as a means of bridging efficiency gab in service delivery.
Chairman of the occasion, Dr. Anerfi Asamoa-Baah applauded HeFRA for taking the lead among few young states Institutions to go digital.
“It is a good move by HeFRA because when quality of health facilities systematically improves, there is the likelihood that the service delivery outputs for them will also improve” he added.
Dr. Anerfi Baah admonished HeFRA to use the same enthusiasm and adopt transparent approach in the application of the standards when health facilities are being inspected to ensure the desired outcomes are achieved.
