Former Asante Kotoko Chairman, Herbert Mensah believes Ghana has what it takes to tame Nigeria in 2022 Word Cup playoffs.
Ghana will battle for a slot in the prestigious tournament in Qatar in a make or break tie against long-standing rivals Nigeria in the playoff round in late March.
Many have tipped the Super Green Eagles to make it to the tournament at the expense of Ghana following the Black Stars shambolic showdown in the AFCON 2021.
Even though many have written Ghana off, Herbert Mensah, who is currently the man in charge of Ghana Rugby, believes the Black Stars is capable of beating Nigeria to make it to the World Cup in Qatar.
“We need to look and build, say this was a disaster, we have Nigeria next, and we have a country that traditionally we beat or we frustrate. Do we have what it takes to beat Nigeria? I think we do,” the experienced sports administrator said.
Meanwhile, Ghana is currently without a head coach after the sacking of Serbian tactician Milovan Rajevac following the Black Stars shambolic performance in the AFCON 2021.
The Black Stars only accumulated a point in the group stage of AFCON, failing to progress in a group of Morocco, Gabon and Comoros.
Ghana will host the first leg of the playoff round before traveling to Abuja for the second fixture.
