Deputy Minister of Education, John Ntim-Fordjour has pledged his unflinching support to clamp down on any form of bullying in Senior High Schools.
On Metro TV show, Good Morning Ghana, he explained that, a troubling video that emerged, depicting an act of violence involving two students from Adisadel College would not be handled as a case in isolation but a case which involves all schools.
“Whilst I will be very cautious not to generalize this occurrence to even the entire Adisadel Fraternity, I would want to say that we are also not leaving any stone unturn if there may be any such culture that has been inherent in that particular house, or any other house or any other school. We want to go to the bottom of it and not just deal with it as a viral video”
Mr Ntim Fordjour is assuring the general public that the boarding school is still safe for students.
“I want to assure the general public that if your child is in boarding school in Ghana, you must feel safe as a parent at home knowing that we have put in place the right, positive and conducive environment, that supports the learning of your child to thrive, not under fear, not under bullying and not under any kind of assault, harassment whatsoever. That is an assurance we are giving, and we are going to take every measure to ensure that what has happened will ravel anything that needs to be unraveled.”
