In the wake of religious politics played By Alan Kyeremateng, leader of the Movement For Change, his campaign team continues to push the religious card.

Nana Ohene Ntow, key campaign figure has suggested Vice president Bawumia should confess Christ before visiting any church for votes.

Alan Kyerematen during the Easter Service called on Christians to elect a ‘Christlike’ president in the forthcoming December 2024 elections. Highlighting the predominantly Christian nature of the nation, Mr Kyerematen emphasised the importance of having a leader who shares the religious faith of the majority of the population.

Addressing a congregation during Easter celebrations, Mr. Kyerematen urged Christians to exercise their voting rights by choosing a candidate aligned with their religious beliefs.

Ohene Ntow says Alan is simply asking for votes from Christians just like Bawumia.

“Why should a Muslim Bawumia go to church to seek votes but a Christian cannot do same? Or is Bawumia a Christian? Has he now confessed Christ? Is Alhaji Bawumia not going around saying they should vote for him because he is a Christian? Why should some people see a problem with it?”

Ohene Ntow said description of Alan’s statement as “Reckless, Irresponsible, dangerous and religiously intolerant” by Henry Nana Boakye NPP national organizer was “Very disrespectful to Hon. Alan Kyeremateng”.

“But for politics this guy (Nana B) wouldn’t be able to use such plain insulting words on Alan Kyeremateng. Politics now allows somebody like Nana Boakye to insult Alan Kyeremateng?” He fumed.

“Bawumia Goes to Church Because of Christian votes. He goes to church to dance and meet church leaders. So if a Muslim can go to church because of votes, why can’t a Christian go to the church for votes? I didn’t criticize Bawumia when he said Muslims and Northerners to vote for him because I see nothing wrong with it” He said.
