Samuel Apea-Danquah, the Yellow Party’s disqualified presidential candidate, is seeking a peaceful resolution with the Electoral Commission (EC) after being barred from the 2024 presidential race.
Apea-Danquah, one of 11 candidates disqualified due to issues with their nomination forms, is demanding an explanation for his disqualification.
He threatened to seek legal redress if the EC failed to give them a hearing within three (3) days of receiving his letter.
In a notice to the electoral management body, his lawyer, Martin Kpebu, claims the EC failed to provide reasons for the disqualification.
The presidential candidate of the Yellow Party is requesting an expeditious review of his disqualification, stating that a swift resolution can still salvage his campaign.
“Despite the harm caused by the disqualification, our client believes a swift resolution can still salvage his campaign. Any delays will further jeopardize his chances of participating in the elections, particularly with the ballot papers needing to be printed ahead of the early December election.
“In view of the above, we request an expeditious review of our client’s disqualification.
“Our client has therefore instructed that we request an amicable settlement of this matter within three (3) days upon receipt of this letter, failing which we will explore other legal avenues for redress.”
