Peace FM’s Presenter, Odi Ahenkan Kwame Yeboah is appealing to the President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, to sack the Youth and Sports Minister, Mustapha Ussif following Ghana’s national team, Black Stars, exit from the ongoing 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The Black Stars managed to secure an early exit from the tournament after being beaten 3:2 by Comoros Islands on Tuesday.
The team couldn’t get a win in all their matches as they were also beaten by Morocco in their first game and also drew with Gabon.
Odi Ahenkan, commenting on the embarrasing failure of the Black Stars in the AFCON, stated emphatically that the Minister for Youth and Sports is ineffectual, so doesn’t deserve to continue sitting in his office.
”Nana Addo must sack the Minister in charge of Youth and Sports. Yes! He must sack this Minister. He can never work. He can’t ever be a Minister for Sports. What has done for youth and Sports? He (Nana Addo) should kick him away”, he exclaimed.
He also called for the President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku and Dr Randy Abbey, who was part of the 3member team that went head-hunting for a new Black Stars coach in 2021, to be arrested for a debriefing.
”Kurt Okraku and Randy Abbey who brought Coach Milo, they must be fired and sacked and they must be arrested by the Police to come and answer questions. They’ve put the tax payers’ money to waste”, he stressed during a panel discussion on Peace FM’s ”Kokrokoo”.
