Arsenal Trounce Bournemouth To Go Summit Of Premier League

Arsenal thumped Bournemouth 3-0 to jump to the top of the Premier League table as they lay down a marker with their superb start to the season.

A brace from Martin Odegaard in the early stages of the first half put the Gunners in a comfortable lead before William Saliba curled home a third after recess to take the Gunners clear at the premier league summit.

Arsenal’s electric start to the game unsettled Bournemouth — they struggled to fine rhythm or composure on the ball and possession became their worse enemy.

The visitors drew first blood — Bournemouth keeper Mark Travers parried Gabriel Martinelli’s low strike and Odegaard was around to tap in the opener from close range just after five minutes of proceedings.

The former Real Madrid midfielder doubled the lead shortly after when he took the ball off Jesus’ toes to sweep a clinical left-footed finish past the helpless Cherries keeper.

Saliba added the icing on the cake with a top corner finish right from the edge of the penalty area to put Arsenal in cruise control.

This is the first time Arsenal have won their opening three fixtures since the 2004-05 season.
