Asante Kotoko Amend New Kits, Took Out Asantehene’s Image From Jersey

Ghana Premier League giants, Kumasi Asante Kotoko have took out the image of Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II from their 2022/23 kits.

A silhouette image of the Asantehene, the life patron of the club was embedded into the lower part of the jersey as a way of honoring the King.

The design received total backlash with the owner and bankroller of King Faisal Alhaji Karim Grusah describing the idea as ‘uncivilized’.

Management of the Kumasi based club defended their decision then and gave reasons for which they affixed the image onto the jersey.

Well, Kotoko have performed a sensational U-turn on their earlier decision and has amended the kits but this time, without the image of the wise King.

“We have after further considerations in collaboration with Errea amended our 2022/23 Kits.” Kotoko announced on Thursday morning.
