A 58-year-old, Kwesi Yaayi but popularly known as Kwasi Dagati was murdered by his own son Philip Yaayi for taking him to Ankaful Psychiatric Hospital on Friday 23rd July 2021.
Philip, 19 also known as Akwasi started behaving abnormally which people suspected him of smoking Marijuana while others suspected him of failed occultism was asked by his father to accompany him on Friday morning 23rd July to see his brother at Cape Coast but unknown to him, his father was taking him to see a specialist at Ankaful Psychiatric Hospital for treatment.
Upon coming back he got angry that why should his father let others check his blood and therefore he will kill his father so that he can also see his blood.
Unknown to his father, Akwasi came to him that he wants a tin of milk to drink which his father bought for him. He left his father’s corn mill shop and came around 5:40 pm with his stepmother’s kitchen knife stabbed his father from the back of his neck and then stabbed him severally until he died and then he called people to come and see what he did to his father.
He then walked to Assin Manso Police station with the knife to report to the Police.
The body has been deposited at the morgue at Assin Fosu while Philip is with Manso Police.
Kwasi Dagati had three (3) wives and Nine (9) children which his last born is only 10 years.
